Scaling up and keeping pace

Efficiency and flexibility are paramount when it comes to monitoring the immune system’s response to infection – and keeping pace in every seasonality.

In a fast-paced work environment, the success of your experiments greatly depends on technological agility. A lack of versatility in the lab results in time spent switching from platform to platform; on top of that, multiple complex platforms require complicated setup and specialized staff. As laboratory inefficiencies pile up, costs balloon.

There are a number of limitations with traditional plate-based PCR. Most importantly, throughput is restricted since a maximum of just six probes can be used per well when multiplexing. Individual pipetting across dozens of plates can increase the risk of errors including contamination, and multiplex PCR requires considerable time and effort when it comes to creating and validating assays.

Standard BioTools™ has scalable sample and target assay options that allow up to 9,216 individual reactions per run without the need to change platforms. Our microfluidic chips, referred to as integrated fluidic circuits, or IFCS, use Nanoflex™ valves to control fluidic movement, resulting in a closed system that eliminates extensive pipetting and therefore much of your contamination risk. Nanoscale automation maximizes workflow efficiency and provides the flexibility to scale your projects while helping your sample go hundreds of times further than with 96-well plates.
